Welcome!

I am an economist doing research in political economy and development, with a focus on identity, education, and social networks.

In my job market paper, I study how inter-ethnic integration shapes social learning among high schoolers. In a different paper, I study how language skills matter during inter-ethnic contact. This work is supported by J-PAL, The Pearson Institute, and the Becker Friedman Institute. See this research and work in progress here.

I will spend the 2025-2026 academic year at Harvard University as a Weatherhead Scholar. I earned my PhD from the University of Chicago in 2025, and my bachelor’s degree from Brown University in 2017.

I am on the 2025-2026 job market. My references are James Robinson (Chair), Steven Durlauf, Oeindrila Dube, and Leonardo Bursztyn.

My blog has random thoughts on what I’m reading, watching, and listening to… and the occasional recipe.
