Welcome!
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics and Management at the University of Porto.
I study topics at the intersection of political economy, development, and education. Much of my research is based in schools in Macedonia. In one strand of work, I employ lab games to study social learning and inter-group cohesion in ethnically segregated high schools in contemporary Macedonia. In another strand, I study competitive nation building through propaganda schools in 19th century Ottoman Macedonia. My work is supported by J-PAL, The Pearson Institute, and the Becker Friedman Institute.
I earned my PhD from the University of Chicago in 2025, and my BA from Brown University in 2017. During 2017-2019, I was a Research Coordinator at the Wharton School of Business, and during 2025-2026, I was a Weatherhead Scholar at Harvard University.
