Welcome!

I am an economist studying topics at the intersection of political economy, development, and education.

In September 2026, I will join the University of Porto as an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics and Management.

Much of my research is based in schools in Macedonia. In one strand of work, I employ lab-in-the-field to study social learning and inter-group cohesion in ethnically segregated high schools. In another strand, I study competitive nation building through propaganda schools in 19th century Ottoman Macedonia. My work is supported by J-PAL, The Pearson Institute, and the Becker Friedman Institute.

I earned my PhD from the University of Chicago in 2025, and my BA from Brown University in 2017. During 2017-2019, I was a Research Coordinator at the Wharton School of Business, and during 2025-2026, I was a Weatherhead Scholar at Harvard University.
