Textures

A theme I come back to again and again while taking photos is one of textures. A close up of a scene from nature, or a dish I’m making. Something smooth or rugged. Submerged or dry. Bubbly or frosty. Visceral. Seductive. Mesmerizing. Something that begs me to run my fingers, or my tongue, across its surface. Does it feel, does it taste, as good as it looks?

Below is a curation of 30 of these photos. All photos are taken between 2019 and 2025, on whatever outdated Google Pixel phone I had at the time, with no touchup besides a square crop of whatever composition looked prettiest to me. Enjoy!
